I hope you feel better, although I am not a parent I can see it can break your heart great depiction, You pretty much summed it up. Here to forgiveness especially for yourself. @KrissyMP
My kids are 23 and 21 and I still make mistakes. Luckily (?) they call me out on my bullshit on a regular basis. Yours will too, someday, and you'll feel better about everything. Maybe.
And Tomorrow, we will be better than that. I sometimes I think that I am the worse parent; that I do everything wrong and feel terrible...holding my head in my hands... But then My little six year old comes in, sits on my lap, takes my hand and says "I love you, Daddy" and it makes me feel my full measure if not more. I loved your piece .. you inspire me!
What a beautiful piece. There are days I think there is no tougher job than being a parent and then when things appear to be perfect, I think their is no easier job.
I just feel blessed to go on this journey with so many beautiful people in this world that stand the strength of patience and the ups and downs of being a parent.
I hope you're OK. Yes, tomorrow will be better. It will be.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this.
ReplyDeleteI always say the number one piece of advice I'd give to other moms is "Forgive Yourself!"
Sleep will fix things.
ReplyDeleteJC you can use some of my dress if you need to.. hang in there. it is hard. so hard.
ReplyDeleteForgiveness isn't always easy, but it's important. Wishing you love and hugs, friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks JC! Such a great reminder after a rough go this morning with the kiddo. I just wanted to cry when I dropped her off at daycare =/

I really enjoy your work! Tweeted :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Forgiving ourselves as parent's, in life, is a hard lesson, and you captured it gorgeously as usual.
ReplyDeleteI love you all. I'm so lucky to have you in my life.

The greatest quote I ever learned as a mom..."This too, shall pass" every day gets better, when you know more you do more.
ReplyDeletemothering is about doing your best and letting the mistakes go -- that's the best you can do -- the perfect mother is a myth.
ReplyDeleteMother-life is tough. Having a support system helps! Be well and remember you aren't alone :)
