ZOMBIE Phone.

You've seen the ZOMBIE Dishwasher. You've witnessed the ZOMBIE Fridge. And now the smart phone keeps dying and coming back to life. Cripes! I've only had it for a year and a half...

It must be a ZOMBIE Phone!!!!

Green dribble and red oozing pustules are a sure sign. That and the fact that it keeps trying to eat my brains. Time to do another back up.

What kind of smart phone should I get next? iPhone? Blackberry? Another HTC? Halp!

Thanks @BigDaddySaid.

  1. iPhone! I've had mine for over 3 years and it has yet to let me down!

  2. I love my iPhone. So many apps, that's really what it's all about and the reason I went with it. The built in camera is great--I never miss a shot and with kids, it's the spontaneous ones that make the best photos! I LOVE your drawings. You are one talented woman!

  3. Totally get an iPhone! Mine is my best friend! Btw, it has plenty of apps to help you deal with zombies :)

  4. That happened to my very normal phone. As it turned out, it wasn't the phone causing the zombification: It was the ZOMBIE Battery. It had fed on the phone, on the air, on the electricity, so much that it was bursting. It had acquired that unhealthy belly of those malnutritioned kids and kept demanding food for Zombies from all around.

I keep it as a souvenir, wraped in a plastic bag for preservation like the mummies, away from the now useless phone. That's my Zombie Battery story for you. :)

  5. Everyone says iPhone. Has no one had a bad iExperience?

Tomoyohime - I wonder if keeping that ZOMBIE Battery is wise. It might escape and bite your car, or your washing machine.

  6. My smart phone is a Zombie too. Turns itself off and on, chooses when to (and when not to) acknowledge a touch on the screen or any attempt at opening an app or answering a call. I've only had it 8 months, and it's given me trouble from the start. (It's a Droid 2.)

  7. Chunky Mama - yup. You got a ZOMBIE too.

  8. Depends on what service you are with, but IMHO Android has never let me down, the whole "iPhone has more apps" argument is sooooo last year. iphone is not a "bad" phone, but consider, "no expandable storage" , "no user replaceable battery", just for starters. BUT I have known people that have hated the iPhone and people that have hated Android phones. I suggest finding the phone that "feels" right to you for what you want, after all it is your phone. But my input is an Android phone, aka geeks phone ..

  11. If you have verizon get the droid incredible. The iphone wasn't built for the verizon network. But if you're crazy enough to have at&t go for the iphone. Personally, my droid is my bff.

  12. Wait for fall with the new iOS and go iPhone. It's going to have amazing possibilities with the new iOS. I haven't had a single problem with mine.

  13. Hey watcher64 - I'm on Rogers. I'm not so interested in apps.

Things I use my phone for are tweeting, phoning, and taking pictures to upload to twitter. My HTC camera sucks so a good camera would be important.

  14. ::cough::droid incredible::cough:: I actually post photos from my phone directly to my blog and they're pretty good quality. I also tweet regularly, and love the gmail app and the droid app store.

  15. Jade - just checked out your blog Crafty New Yorker. Very cool! Really liked the xmas ornaments that you made. And yeah, the photos are good. Does your phone camera have a flash on it?

  17. PS My husband has an HTC Droid Incredible and his camera is really good. We got our phones at the same time and his have never shown any signs of Zombieness.

  19. I too have a Zombie phone... I think all HTC owners are now figuring out that several of them are in fact Zombies. After having 4 since February that have all risen from the dead in one way or another I should have just burned them, but instead I kept getting another one....sigh...hoping that their replacement would be a bright shiny new one with an actual heartbeat. But NO, I kept getting their more powerful offspring that eventually proved to be even more un-dead than the previous one.
So, my suggestion would be to steer clear of the HTC's, even though I'm hoping that the 'new' one I got in the mail a couple of days ago has me retracting that suggestion. If not, I'll let you know when Zombie phone #5 arrives and it doesn't require life support. In the meantime I'll go wipe the green dribble off of #3 so I can send it back to Zombie-land as to avoid a hefty charge on my bill for not returning it on time ;)

p.s. It keeps showing that I will be posting this as Anonymous... I guess my Zombie phone doesn't want to reveal it's location....but this is Brandon Duncan's wife, Brandi :)

  21. Wow - lotta love for the iPhone here! I couldn't wait to get an iPhone - I wanted one really, really bad. Then I got one. I loved the apps but still don't like the phone part of the phone. It seems like hearing what the callers were saying on the other end was so much easier on my Razr than on my iPhone. But if you're a ton more of a texter than an "old skool" talker, then it might not make a difference. :)

  22. I'm marrying my iPhone & we are hOneymoOoning in the Italian Riveria!

  23. Brandi - yeah lemeeno if the htc has a pulse.

Julia - I noticed the love for the iPhone. IF only it had a little slide out keypad....I like the touch, but not for texting.

Deanna - Bahahahahahaha!!! Ok then, that iPhone must be waterproof.

  24. Ah-HA! I can Comment!
No iPhone for you. Get a nice Blackberry or qa slide-out Nokia or HTC. Motorolas will break a month out of warranty ( this includes the Droid model phones ).
Android is an operating system, Droid is the phone.

  27. There areee so many things to consider making a choice! its all about apps these days and to be honest I think android are soon to be at the top.

I have a blackberry and if I could choose any phone it would be an android, probably a HTC or a samsung to be honest :)

  28. ROFL! I am SO glad I'm not the only one whose HTC is evil. I love it. It does everything I want it to do, exactly the way I want it to do it. The Internet connection is fabulous. The camera is great. The zoom does exactly what I want it to do. But it's constantly freezing for no good reason, likes to randomly reset its settings and leave me scrambling to figure out why I'm the only one in the house with no cell phone service, and is incredibly fond of dropping the key lock so I butt-dial Alaska. (True story.)

I'm keeping my HTC until the next upgrade, then grabbing a cheap iPhone. The mobile movie app sealed the deal-with all the time I spend in the car, my kids need as much entertainment as they can get!

  29. I had no idea that the HTC could turn into a zombie!!! I'm going to have to keep an eye on it.

I have the htc desire hd and the camera is okay and the rest of the features are great. I love Android so will always get an android phone.

Last year I had an iPhone for a month and didn't like it. Hated that it had no good google interface, logged me out of gchat/gmail anytime i left the page, so I couldn't do anything if I was trying to have a conversation on gchat with someone.

So far my htc is good. I think there was a problem with Telus as it was eating bandwidth instead of brains but now it is back to expected usage.

  30. Yes, it does have a flash. And it doubles as a flashlight, which I often need, haha.

Thank you about there blog. The ornaments were a big hit at Christmas. If only I had more time for crafty stuff. Darn masters degree getting in the way. Who needs to graduate anyways?!
