I was reading about the "12 Most Common Mistakes New Bloggers Make" by Danny Brown and realized that I hadn't yet made a favicon.
"Hey JC! What the heck is a favicon?"
Folks, in plain English, a favicon is that thingie in the corner of your thingie.
Apparently a blog should have one to help it stand out. So people know where they are.
I made my favicon thingie here at favicon.cc
And I figured out how to get it into the corner of my thingie at BloggingTips.com
So....does it look like me?
I has one!
ReplyDeleteNice! I've been in the process of vamping up my blog thingies...thank you for the tip/tutorials about doing this little thingie too! (and the proper name for it...apparently people have no clue what thingie I'm talking about when I call it that thingie.) LOL Still don't think giraffe legs will fit in the little thingie box though.
ReplyDeleteTotally looks like you...if you squint just a bit.
ReplyDeleteI like it. It reminds me of a video game from back in the day. Hey maybe you should create one and use your avatar as one of the characters.
ReplyDeleteHaha, very cool, and yes, as @Alisha mentions, it reminds me of my classic video gaming days. And that's no bad thing! :)
ReplyDeleteI like it, it's very cool!! I love favicons :)
ReplyDeleteI’m not getting one… my Hubby swore like the devil in a drunken brawl trying like hell to make one work for me about 2 years ago… So I dare not ask that of him again. :-P He has my template in his Mac or I would go ahead and try.
ReplyDeleteYes, it looks like a Space Invader you trying to eat your dress or are you shooting the dress out of your mouth?
What the heck! I'm just trying to order a pizza! How do I get off of this page? It keeps sending me back here! I just want to order a pizza!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! Thanks Sosososososoooooo much! I have been trying to update this since February! Apparently blogger gives you the option in your template editing, but when I uploaded the favicon.ico file it didn't work. Working now hosted on free host space!
ReplyDeleteI had the same result as you Linds, the favicon.ico file was rejected by Blogger. But it worked fine hosted on my own server. Woo! Feel free to leave us the link here so we can go check out your favicon!
ReplyDelete40 Year Old Child Prodigy - I'm having trouble keeping a straight face, reading your post. Um...but I do hope you got your pizza dude.
ReplyDeleteStephi - Giraffe legs might not fit, but giraffe fur pattern might...
ReplyDeleteDanny Brown - thanks for writing the article. As you can see from the comments here, you've helped more than just me =]
I just got a thingy too! I feel like one of the cool kids. :)
ReplyDeleteAllison - nice one! Really easy to read.
ReplyDeleteOooh! Awesome. I've been wanting one of those. I'm going to go make one right now. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI made one, thanks for the help
ReplyDeleteThough, I did break the blog whilst doing it - fixed now...

Hey BNM! - I saw your "thingie".
ReplyDeleteI had a thingie when my blog got redone, but then somehow it disapppeared when Blogger had all its problems (I hate Blogger - it still won't let me sign on to your site to leave my comment, I have to use AIM or Anonymous). I think I may try Dan's suggestions to make another one because dammit, I deserve a thingie!
